"David E. Talbert's 'What My Husband Doesn't Know,'" is the latest in the celebrated, award-winning playwright/author/producer/filmmaker’s wildly successful stage plays that will be released on DVD and Digital Download in conjunction with BET and David E. Talbert Presents.
In “David E. Talbert’s ‘What My Husband Doesn’t Know,’” Lena Summer is the envy of all her friends. Big house. Successful husband. It's the perfect life...or so it seems. But with her husband's demanding career as a construction mogul, the other side of her bed is too cold too often. When a handsome young foreman from her husband's company arrives to work on their home, the spark she's been missing quickly rages into a wildfire. The play co-stars film and television heartthrob Brian White (Stomp the Yard) and Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child and Broadway’s historic hit “Chicago.” The production also stars theatre and television legend Clifton Davis (Any Given Sunday, “Amen,” “Pal Joey”) and volcanic vocalist Ann Nesby (Sounds of Blackness.) With “David E. Talbert’s ‘What My Husband Doesn't Know’”, the playwright brings to life a mesmerizing tale that puts a very contemporary twist on the fabled Fatal Attraction theme.
David E. Talbert’s 13 critically acclaimed productions have garnered an unprecedented 24 NAACP nominations, winning Best Playwright of the Year for his 2001 production “The Fabric of a Man.” In 2007, Talbert received the New York Literary Award for Best Playwright of the Year for “Love in the Nick of Tyme” and in 2008, Talbert received the prestigious NAACP Trailblazer Award for his groundbreaking accomplishments in theater. Now, 20 years, 13 plays, 3 novels, a feature film, reality show, and prime-time TV special later, David E. Talbert continues to do what he loves and what audiences across the country have come to love him for.
